Last Ten Visitors History
Files that should be included with LTV v2.2:
o Guests.Exe - Main Program
o LTVSetup.Exe - Setup Program
o LTVSetup.Cfg - Default Configuration
o History.Ltv - What your hopefully reading now
o LTV20.Ico - Windows Icon
o Register.Frm - Registration Form
o LTV22.Doc - Documentation
If you don't have one of these, or want to check for anything new from
Samsara Productions, call my BBS @ 602.926.0281.
October 15, 1992 (Version 2.2)
What's Different:
o Expanded input/output paths to 60 characters in LTVSetup.
Was @ something like 30 characters. This is the Martin Brampton
extended Remix. ;)
o Added the version number to the bottom of the bulletin.
o My mail box moved on me, so now there is a NEW REGISTRATION ADDRESS.
o Fixed a problem that occurred when people entered in an
extremely descriptive 'FROM' field. This was causing a pointer
overwrite and trashing the output, among other things.
Thanks to Richard Muenzer for pointing this one out...
o Optimized a string search. This should speed things up a
wee bit more.
o Changed the executable guest.exe to guests.exe.
o Due to the above nasty bug, this is an interim release until
I can finish the work on version 3.0. The next version of
this program will sport some philosophical changes as well
as, dare I say it, spiffy new features.
June 21, 1992 (Version 2.1)
New Features/Changes:
o Recompiled under Borland's Turbo C++ v3.0
(Made Guest.Exe 2K Smaller)
o Changed the Way Error Beeps are Generated
(Made Guest.Exe another 1K Smaller)
o Fixed "Access Denied" Bug
(The Output would be corrupted if a user had his/her access)
(denied for being on two nodes at the same time. I didn't)
(find this one until I put up a second node so that I could)
(work on LTV without holding up the BBS.)
(Now I keep both nodes busy... ) :)
o Found a way to stop Wildcat! from Homing the Cursor
(In my opinion, this is a problem in the way Wildcat! displays)
(its bulletins. Since the Homing of the Cursor was part of)
(the display AFTER the Pause/Stop option, Wildcat! should)
(NOT of been displaying it if the user hit "stop".)
(STOP==NOMORE!.)
o Fixed additional "Pause" at the end of the Display.
(Wildcat! was putting an additional "Pause" at the end)
(of the Display, even though there was a previous)
(@NOPAUSE@ statement in the Bulletin.)
o Fixed Blanking/Short Lines on Less than Ten Callers
(If LTV was not registered and there was less than 10 callers)
(in the Activity.Log, LTV would try to output 10 callers even though)
(there may have been only four. A Sanity Check was put in to)
(correct this one.)
It's only a hobby... It's only a hobby... It's only a hobby...
June 11, 1992 (Version 2.0)
The Following Features Have Been Added:
For Registered Users:
o Display of the Last 1-90 Callers
o Starting Date
o Notification of New Users
o Notification of Lost Carrier
For Non-Registered Users:
o LTV Will Cease Functioning After 60 Days
(At This Point, I'm Just Kidding) ;^)
General Fixes/Additions/Improvements/Etc...:
o Small Bug in the Baud Coding
(Wrong Variable - Surprised it Didn't Cause Any Problems)
o Large Bug w/ the Formatting of the Baud Rate
(THERE WAS NO FORMATTING of Baud Rates w/ <>4 Characters!) 8^O
(I Deserve a Big Raspberry for Not Seeing This One) B^b'
(Should Properly Display Rates from 0-99999 Baud, Now)
(Ya, I Know, Who Has a Modem THAT Fast, and What's His Name?)
o Removed Redundant Color Changes in the Output Bulletin
(Should Speed Things Up a Wee Bit More)
o Display of the Background First is Now History
(Hacked It Out to Simplify Coding, Lazy is a Better Word)
(Too Slow for Those at <9600 Baud)
o Improved Error Handling/Messages
o New Count Routines for the Local Display
o etc., etc., etc. ...
April 19, 1992 (Version 1.01)
o New SetUp Program
(LTVSetup)
o No Longer Uses Namedat.BBS
(Part of the Setup Program)
o No Longer Creates Data.BBS
(Writes the Bulletin Direct)
o Now Uses Registration Numbers
(No Need to Send a Specially Compiled Version)
o A Tad Bit Faster
(Optimized the Code, a Wee Bit)
March 27, 1992 (Version 1.0)
o Official release of Last Ten Visitors.
